Our location

Þjórsárdalur sits in the heart of Iceland, roughly 130 kilometres east from Reykjavík. Remote enough to feel like another world. Close enough to reach in an afternoon.

The Interactive Exhibition brings the valley’s long history and extraordinary landscape to life. Travel back to the time of the early settlers, see how people lived here and get to know the forces that have shaped life in the valley over the centuries.

Taste, elevated

Fresh, seasonal ingredients are at the heart of a menu inspired by the valley. Thoughtful, inventive cooking brings something new to familiar flavours, with the menu evolving throughout the year. And a setting that brings its own flavour to the table.

The Theatre Show takes you back to 1104, when Hekla erupted and farms disappeared beneath the ash. Fifteen minutes in the dark with the valley’s past, before you step outside and see it for yourself.
